In Montepetriolo, Umbria region takes life in a project telling its history and culture.
Upon entering Borgo dei Conti Park, one can immediately feel reconnected with nature and history. In 2002, the Babini family purchased the old villa and its park, transforming it into a Resort. In 2024, after a major and fascinating restoration project by the Spagnulo & Partners architecture studio, Borgo dei Conti was transformed into a luxury country resort, a landmark in Umbria.
The renovation was carried out with great care, to preserve the integrity of the place. The selected partner companies had to embody authentic tradition. Hence, Fornace Sugaroni was chosen for Etruscan-fired bricks and Fiemme Tremila for wood floors. Preferring wood, especially wood treated only with organic substances, perfectly fits with a specific choice: create a space where nothing is artificial!
The natural oak from the Boschi di Fiemme collection, in its Ricco essence, was laid in three different patterns: brick pattern, herringbone, and geometric. The use of wood tiles is both fascinating and interesting. Historically, they were used by the aristocracy in grand palaces and significant places. The most famous geometric pattern is the well-known Versailles design. For this reason, it was chosen and redesigned with a contemporary vision, featuring four different shapes tailored to the specific room and its intended use. It was a meticulous and precise work that required large samples and constant trials, even in front of the owners. The result was this jewel, originated from Umbria and made of Umbria.
