The echo of authentic choices and natural materials resounds in an atmosphere of rare and pure beauty: Morcote, at the slopes of Mount Arbostora, the cape where Lake Lugano draws its southern curve.

Nicola Brivio decided to build his home in a 1950s building that followed the then-fashionable taste for "holiday homes", mixing Mediterranean touches and a certain Teutonic heaviness, not without artificiality. The owner explained: «I wanted to live in that house all year round, not only during the holidays. My first aim was to find its authenticity. I deal with buildings and engineering; architecture and design are my biggest passions. I faced this challenge by using materials I have always loved for their naturalness: stone, iron, and above all, wood». Wood, primarily used indoors and the main character outdoors becomes the renovation project's focus.

生活的激情I

A warm, vibrant wood, rich in urges and nuances, Ferro, from the Boschi di Fiemme collection by Fiemme Tremila, is an oak that perfectly expresses the intensity and honesty of natural material. Metal highlights break down into ever-changing shades of colour as the light changes, ranging from gold to cream pink to powder.

The brushing finish and the BioPlus® treatment oiling enhance its classic appearance and texture qualities. However, the "random" laying, the planks' asymmetry, is also in harmony with the other vital elements that characterise the rooms: the iron and stone fireplaces, stone and terracotta in some bare accent elements. They allow us to experience nature's deepest, most intimate, primordial aspects in every room.
