Time of Wood
Designed by arch. Mirko FranzosoZiano di Fiemme, Italy
Hiking, walking, mountain biking, and the desire to enjoy a marvellous valley in a territory capable of protecting its environment. We are in Ziano di Fiemme, a small Trentino town where man and nature live harmoniously. It is a place where, in a nutshell, life is good. You can have a unique house almost without noticing it is not far away from an industrial park.
Thanks to the strong character of wood, the main element of the renovation project, this home looks like a cabin and winks at modernity. The obvious choice was Fior di Traccia, an ancient teak with an original brushed surface that was especially made for the clients.
The one hundred square meters of space enhance the desired contrast between traditional architectural elements and modern design. White furniture was, indeed, conceived as a colour play that explodes when it meets light. This house cherishes old memories, such as the ceramic “ole” stove, typical of Val di Non. Still, it can be bubbly and somewhat impertinent with unique pieces such as the vintage jukebox (purchased in the States) or small bright red accessories.
