Precious time
Designed by arch. Sandro MarianiGrottammare, Italy
It was a complicate work since the owner wanted everything to be made of recycled material. From floor to beams, from roof to coverings, all the material has been saved from being wasted, the efforts put in the in this recycling mission were enormous. From the front patio you can reach to the ground floor, a big open space where you find the living room and the kitchen, the true heart of the house, perfect for the owners who love to surround themselves with family and friends. Upstairs there is the bedrooms.
The first floor, around 100 mq, is covered by planed oak. The precious floor is enriched with a light treatment to value the original colours and shades of this wood.
The choice of a wood floor is atypical for this part of Italy – tells the architect Sandro Mariani – traditionally we use terracotta. To be truthful, we have to say that wood floors can be find in some old noble residences, it is nothing new. This let us install this parquet without breaking the sense of history and tradition we wanted. The perfect match to this project was Fior di Raggio, variegated with a hand-made surface finishing.
