The Essence of Transformation
Designed by arch. Michele Dalla ChiaraPesaro, Italy
The request was to design an open layout for the living space, obtaining two double bedrooms with private bathrooms, a dressing room and a guest bathroom. The result leaves no doubt: an ample open living space receives lots of natural light from the many large windows overlooking the old town. It seems like watching a video projection, in which the frames are the roofs of the old buildings and the tympanum of Madonna delle Grazie Sanctuary. The space layout was designed to ease daily living activities without forgetting comfort and functionality.
From a formal point of view and thanks to the material choice, the apartment has a contemporary look. We wanted a modern home with the “warmth” only historic buildings can convey. This explains the strategic choice of wood flooring, clarified the architect.
The essence was chosen after studying light and colour. Dolcerivo, from the Luci di Fiemme collection, is a fair oak crystallised by the Thermowood thermal process. It takes dark dove-grey and hazelnut hues, with grey and pink highlights, perfect to avoid the mirror effect on the surface, especially during the day. At night, with the diffuse atmosphere of artificial light, the dark hues create a warm and cosy setting.
