Essence
Fuoriserie - BottegaHigh technology and excellent materials: style meets good life. Hopefully, in the future, every home will be inspired by similar criteria.
In the meantime, while visiting the house of the engineer Mauro Croce, we leap forward in time to discover the many interpretations and possibilities of a “naturally smart” house. A concept that his owner wanted to transfer from his green building studio to his house located, not surprisingly, in Moena. It is an enchanted setting in the Alps, surrounded by some of the most impressive Dolomite groups, including the Catinaccio, Monzoni and Latemar, and the green slopes of the Costalunga pass. A perfect place for a villa built by following the strict ClimateHouse requirements and focused on home automation and aesthetic and healthy qualities of Val di Fiemme wood.
«We can say it’s a one-of-a-kind house,» says Engineer Croce without hiding his satisfaction. This residence is entirely energy-self-sufficient and can produce the necessary power for the house, as well as the large wellness area and the gym. «The yearly consumption and CO2 emissions are almost zero due to the absence of chimneys.»
A “home-nature” where sustainability and biocompatibility also set the guidelines for interior architecture, starting from Fiemme Tremila floors. The essence that won the owner over is knotty oak, with boards exclusively made for the project. They are thicker than normal ones and as long as five metres. This choice showed the will to make the most of the house’s large spaces and fully exploit the colour nuances that oak provides.
