Gentle ideas, like a soft veil of organza
Cuneo, Italy
In a historical hamlet in Piedmont, the new life of an ancient stately home.
Right in the middle of an historic little town near Cuneo you can find this dependence of an ancient, noble villa protected by Belle Arti. The structure from the 18th century was left to her fate for a long time. It had to be saved, to be lived. It became a little oasis for a young couple.
The ground floor has vaulted brick ceiling, kept and emphasized to mark the passing of time. The first-floor ceiling was, instead, removed to gain an airy open space, with few doors and two bedrooms with mezzanines. The wood had to harmonize the ancient details with the modern elements.
The elm tells about ancestral suggestions. The vine used to be planted right next to it in order to survive. The elm was therefore considered the tutor of every young and joyful existance by ancient people.
Fior d'Organza is one most fascinating essence of Fior di Fiemme collection, where nature shows her rarest and most precious expression. It was love at first sight for this light between pink and gold, for these veins that seem to be river of honey with soft reflections, for this natural oiling that gives the impression of a thin veil. A veil of organza emphasized by the precious hand-planed surface that donate unicity and elegance, that tells a story of regeneration.
