All around, the lake. And the wood.

Family is the place where heart never ends, reads the neon sign that hangs on the living room wall. In fact, the homey atmosphere and its warmth are the sensations one feels when first entering this villa in Morcote, on the southern shores of Lake Lugano.
On one side we are in Switzerland, and on the other in Italy. A location along the border with a double soul. A double soul that is also visible in the building itself: outside an exposed concrete structure which continues indoors in some parts and wood abounds balancing the overall minimalism with its warmth. The grey concrete and the honey wood: the dualism again repeated in this chromatic choice.
The Essence is Radioso, a knotty and smooth oak from the Boschi di Fiemme collection, laid over the whole floor of the villa, and was also used as cladding for the staircase. This project so strongly based on visual continuity, encompasses other wooden elements such as the iconic wardrobe in the living room and the kitchen island, which were also chosen to harmonize with the honey floor. The same timber was also used in the bathroom to clad the countertop of the sink and as a feature on the wall.
