In Bassano, Asian and Nordic influences shape a minimalist design that harmonises with the surrounding nature.
Located in Bassano del Grappa, near the town centre yet adjacent to a fully non-buildable area, lies a green lung that stretches out as far as the eye can see. Overlooking this landscape stands a minimalist villa crafted from concrete and wood, a box with exposed surfaces shaped using thermally treated timber formwork.
The owners’ request was to create a modern house that perfectly blended with the surrounding nature, achieving an interplay of enhancement and harmonious integration. A house built around the trees, becoming their respectful guardian.
Since nature was free to express its potential and remain as untouched as possible, selecting a Fiemme Tremila biocompatible wood floor seemed the most coherent choice. This was particularly relevant, as a floating installation could be employed, simply laying the boards on the base surface without using potentially harmful glues or materials. The choice fell on one of the most elegant and delicate oak from the Boschi di Fiemme collection: Riflesso, which aligns perfectly with the entire project. It extends throughout the villa, intertwining and merging with other materials, receiving and giving in an ascending crescendo of light and nature.
