Inspirations

In the Brescia area, the renovation of a two-level penthouse interprets, through furniture and colour choices, a timeless beauty.

This town lies on the valley’s south-facing slope, illuminated by sunshine all day. Maybe this is where its name originates. Lumezzane, in the Brescia province, has “healthy light”, lumen sana from Latin. Perhaps it is one of the reasons why this town nestled in the Val Gobbia, next to Val Trompia, is loved by its more than twenty thousand citizens. In Lumezzane’s old town, in a historic building, there is this penthouse.

Ideas of living

The owner has personally supervised every aspect of the renovation by working with a surveyor to redesign the spaces, an interior designer and a decorator to decide the colours. Everything speaks about passion, with eclectic touches telling travel stories of or the love for art and fashion. Every small solution, furniture or finishing was not a random choice but resulted from careful consideration, chosen among thousands of options and placed in the ideal setting that provides a warm, welcoming feeling.

A “natural stage” made of wide oak boards emphasises this pleasant feeling: Dolcerivo from the Luci di Fiemme collection. For the floor, the Thermowood finishing was suggested. A thermal treatment that gives better wear resistance and dimensional stability to endure the family dog’s mischiefs and domestic habits. The soft hues of wood, taupe and hazelnut with crystallised accents are well mixed with the grey colour palette chosen for fixtures, doors and the elegant hues of the walls.
