The King of the Forest
Designed by Luigino PanozzoMoena, Italy
Here, everything is healthy: food, wine and wood.
In the 19th century, it was the only tavern and evening meeting place for the citizens of Forno and the surrounding farms. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was transformed into the inn “Il Bisola,” where carriage travellers could stop and rest. It also began to be used as a post office. The building was named “Foresta”—after the surrounding fir forest—in 1969, five years after the Schacher family purchased it.
The hotel was renovated in 2012. «We’ve renovated the rooms, elevating their quality,» explained Walter Schacher. The rooms are larger and have a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. The carpet has been replaced by wood. «It’s more sanitary, gives warmth, and single-handedly furnished the room,» he added.
For the floor, the choice fell on Fiemme Tremila to stay in tune with nature. A biocompatible wood floor that does not pollute the house’s air and increases housing comfort. The thermowood oak Tobià, from the Mani di Fiemme collection, has been used for the bedrooms. This oak’s intense colour matches the furniture. The thermowood larch Fener, Also from Mani di Fiemme, was used for the dining room and the SPA. Its board seem modified by the flow of time, with its honey-brown colour exuding warmth and harmony.
