A cellar on the hills of Friuli, where wood and earth meet as one
The eastern hills of Friuli, a few kilometres from the Slovenian border.
Here, Otto Casonato took over a winery and wanted to give it a new brand, for both winemaking and its image. His idea is simple and precise: the high quality of the wine should match the high quality of the building and environment where the wines are produced and where visitors arrive for wine tastings. This is why the renovation project has encompassed the cellar building. The design of the building was entrusted to the surveyor Andrea Tonet.

Entering the wine tasting room you are greeted by a bounty of wood.
The Fior di Rubino Essence from the Fior di Fiemme collection, was chosen for its warm colour which combines well with the larch of the wall mounted displays, tables, and ceiling beams. Depending on the point of view and light, the colour passes through the whole chromatic and sensorial scale of reds just like a glass of Refosco wine seen in backlight at sunset. The floor was laid in its natural sequence: the wood should speak for itself without the artificial intervention of man.
Just like wine.
