In Bologna, there is a villa where opposites attract. With style.

The story takes place in the Bologna foothill area and begins with a 1960s detached villa, subject to landscape constraints and surrounded by a large and rare citron garden. Once inside, the project’s liveliness is evident. Developed by BxFstudio, it shows bold architectural choices, careful style research, a consistent integration of nature, and a strong connection to its roots, represented by the classical red Bologna bricks found in old plaster walls. Thanks also to their browned surface due to traditional baking in blast furnaces, from element to hide, red bricks become proud evidence of a returning past.

Die Idee des Raumkonzept

While bricks represent the past, spaces tell the story of everyday life, reshaping the structure and its partition. The rooms are no longer defined as they were in the 1960s, but are now open spaces with large windows, spacious and flexible, reflecting the needs of a modern family. Natural light becomes a main element and starts a constant interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces in every room, from the living room to bedrooms, study, and bathrooms. The wood floor Respiro, Boschi di Fiemme collection, by Fiemme Tremila is a privileged actor in this dialogue with nature.

Thanks to a skilled installation, Respiro adds value also to the captivating stairs made of black steel and wood, which serve as the focal point of the house. They are a great example of design and experimentation in which each step is unique, each tread is irregular and differs from the other, and the wood was skillfully cut and laid to fit perfectly in the steel riser. Passion for wood is also showcased with another Fiemme Tremila Essence. The master bedroom and the studio are characterised by the warmth and cosiness of Nocciolieve with a Saw Cut finishing.
