Inspirations

Simple shapes and textures continuity are in contrast with the immense beauty of the landscape, among the Langhe rolling hills and the Western Alps peaks.

According to the owners, their home is “on the tip of the mountain”, although it blends into the hills of lower Piedmont. Two professionals, an architect and an engineer, both sharing work and their personal lives, collaborated on a project that required a significant amount of effort. In the Cuneo area, this new building in Albaretto della Torre overlooks the Langhe landscape with its gentle, sinuous hills, reaching up to the Western Alps. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking, the wine landscapes are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the hazelnut trees are cultivated in the highest parts of the Langhe region. You can also see the peaks of the Cottian and Maritime Alps, including the unmistakable pyramid of Monviso and the crest of Mount Argentera.

Ideas of living

The landmark has established the placement of the large perimetric windows to offer different views daily. This transparency diffuses light indoors, highlighting the natural veins and hues of wood, the main feature of the house, adding warm and intense tones. Riflesso, oak from the  Boschi di Fiemme collectionis on every floor, bathrooms included, and enhances the welcoming atmosphere of the whole house.

The concept of continuity, along with the project criteria of simple shapes and clean lines, goes beyond the horizontal boundary and also involves the volumes’ dimensions. Riflesso, imbued with a whitening light, covers false ceilings, doors and walls and gives a modern uniformity to the design of rooms.
